May 7: An Afternoon of French-Canadian Music

The first event in the 2023 Sid Emery Memorial Speakers’ Series takes place on Sunday, May 7 at 2:30 PM at the Sanford-Springvale Historical Museum. “An Afternoon of French-Canadian Music” features fiddler Don Roy and keyboardist Cindy LaBrecque. Events in the Sid Emery Speakers’ Series are sponsored by the Sanford-Springvale Historical Society and the Friends of the Alfred Shaker Museum.

Tickets are $15 for persons 18 of age and older, and children are admitted free of charge. Seating is limited to 100, so reservations are recommended. To reserve your tickets, contact Harland Eastman or Lloyd Hunt.

The Sanford-Springvale Historical Museum is air-conditioned and handicapped-accessible.

Speakers’ Series: Change of Venue

Both of the remaining Speakers’ Series events for this season have had a change of venue. They were scheduled to be held in Denis Hall, but will be held instead at the Alfred Shaker Museum. They will take place at the scheduled times.

Fall Apple Festival, September 24 & 25

The annual Apple Festival will take place on September 24 & 25, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Museum.

This year’s Festival features food trucks from the Waterboro Lions and others, pony rides, homemade apple pies, and a Silent Auction of donated items. Our vendors’ wares include wood crafts, jewelry, handbags, metal art, and more!
